The DataSourceName, etc. input column properties refer to user variable names. The drop-down lists will be empty if you haven't defined any variables.

There is a notice on the MapPoint Customer Services site that says:

IMPORTANT NOTICE: MapPoint Web Service will be discontinued on November 18, 2011.

It links to http://www.microsoft.com/maps/mappoint.aspx for information about migrating code to use Bing Maps.

Hello, I downloaded this project yesterday, opened a developer account in Bing maps and tried the SSIS project that tests the component. I have been able to get only one result in 21 attempts, the one result I got back was when running only for one record, using Adventure works; here is the result: <encoding name='ISO-8859-1'> EntityID(long),AddressLine(String),PrimaryCity(String),Subdivision(String),PostalCode(String),CountryRegion(String),Phone(String),Latitude(double),Longitude(double),MatchCode(String),MatchedMethod(String),MatchedAddress(String),EditedLocationUTC(string),EditedPropertyUTC(string),InputModified(String) 21640,1080 quai de Grenelle,Saint Ouen,,17490,,,0,0,Bad,,,,, So this tells me my account works, well, but that was just one time yesterday and when I try to rerun even for the same address I keep getting this error: Error: 0xC0047062 at Test MapPoint Batch Geocoder, MapPoint Batch Geocoder [459]: System.ApplicationException: Failed to execute MapPoint command StartDownload after 20 attempts. ---> System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: An internal server error occurred (2QXA9E8XRR3FVU:D644F5A8:WUVX). Do you know if there is something going on with the service? I am using Staging. Thanks, Anibal.

In SSIS 2008 Data Flow when I execute the package the Source goes Green and 145 rows were extracted.

But the MapPointBatchGeocoder goes Red and I get the following entries in my Output log. Can anyone tell me what's happening?

I've even tried making the Source a view with "where NOT NULL" on every column to make sure that the source data does not contain any NULLs, but I'm still getting a NullReferenceException.

Hi,
i have the following problem:
I take small data from db and make a request with mappoint batch geocoder. The request is successfull as i can see on my virtual earth platform. a download-file is built with the right information.
Unfortunately I just receive the following error message:

I was searching for the right function in the geocode and put constant values instead of receiving data from mappoint. In fact my solution is working then, but not in the way it should do...

Has anybody some experience with this problem? Thanks.

Not too sure if this is relevant now but SQL 2008 Spatial had changed format from lat/long to long/lat so, in short, reverse the values and should be OK...
Just downloading the source now and will take a look to see if that is the issue...

A bit rusty with geocoding, and never was that proficient. In any event, here's my issues:

1) I can't fill in anything for MapPoint DataSourceName, MapPoint Password, MapPoint UserName, MapPoint UserStaging -- I get a drop down list option, but the drop down list is blank and I can't type anyting in.

2) I see where the output is SqlGeography, I understand that ESRI MapIt is looking for a Geometry data type.

3) Maybe I missed it, but it would be great to get a step-by-step, hello world kind of example.

4) I don't have city names, but I do have zip codes -- good enough to get a Geometry point?

Thanks and appreciate the effort for an SSIS geocoder.

When I go to enter information into the Custom Properties attributes, I cannot edit "MapPoint DataSourceName", "MapPoint Password", "MapPoint UserName", "MapPoint UseStaging". I cannot type anything in those boxes. The rest of the properties work correctly, I can pick the values from the drop down lists. What do I need to do to write to those fields?
